Terry Richardson to decide early?

I mentioned on the Ideal Class page that I thought Terry would move his decision forward, and it looks like that is the case. 247 Sports' Steve Wiltfong posted this thread a few minutes ago, it basically says that CB Terry Richardson could be deciding this week!

Could be a false alarm...shame!

After RJS tweeted about an announcement today, things were looking real good! But unfortunately that was a joke played by someone. Still, I guess the above 247 sports thread might still hold true, so Richardson could still announce this week - which is way sooner than expected anyway.

  1. please let it be true...

  2. That changed quickly. Benji do you think that if rawls starts jumping up the depth chart we could have a Rb choose to transfer.

  3. Know they are saying he is not anouncing today. Who knows

    ReplyDelete
  4. @Richard, probably not. Most of the RB's are seniors and juniors, so there's not that much point in them transferring. Plus it might take Rawls a year or so to learn blocking technique + the playbook, whilst maintaining academics.

  5. Royce is on twitter saying he thought the press conference was at 3 today. If this is a joke Royce is getting messed with pretty bad.

  6. Fool me once, shame on him, fool me twice, shame on me. So I'm not buying it just yet!

  7. I know it's frustrating as to what is going on. I hope it is today but if not maybe this week.

  8. Terry just got on twitter and said he might have a decision in mind. These guys are having fun with this one now.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Yeh, I'm following them on Twitter, really not sure what to make of everything. I guess for the moment I'll assume its still a joke, then if a source confirms, it'll be a pleasant surprise.

  10. Ok Royce said Sam was right about him getting pranked, however he stated that Terry would be making a decision next week. This supports what his coach reported to 247 sports about Terry announcing soon.

  11. Go Blue! How will the Interesting but pointless facts will work here?

  12. T Rich just tweeted "Roll Tide Nation" i hope thats not a hint to where hes leaning

    ReplyDelete
  13. Could be screwing with everyone now that he knows we are all on edge.

  14. I know it is their time to shine with so many people interested in their every tweet, but come on.

Who was it last year that committed to Tennessee over us, as it Arnett. I thougt by the end he was just being obnoxious. I do forget what it was like to be 17, and never did I have the foram that these recruits have. Trying to keep that I perspective, great things can be obtained by humbling ones self.

  15. He followed rolled tide with go blue, then go ducks.

  16. What these offers need to remember is that as lucky as we are to get their committments, they're just as lucky getting to A2. Great town, great school, great family

    ReplyDelete
  17. So are we speculating that it is between these three LOL.

    ReplyDelete
  18. another pair of CB/WR coming?

    ReplyDelete
  19. next pair: T-Rich (michigan) + C-Smith (Ohio)

    what is hoke doing there?

    ReplyDelete
  20. So we have only 1 person make the Rivals 100 list that came out today.. That is RJS at #87

    ReplyDelete
  21. Who says Corey Smith is coming to AA ? What's triggering all the news with TR is the Standifer visit for this Thursday. That's very simple to figure out.

Standifer is on a high alert commitment this week. Expect Godin to commit. If he goes elsewher, major shock. I expect R.Thompson to either delay his decision or commit elsewhere. Too much drama with him.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Corey Smith does not even have us in his top 5 for his announcement. We are not in that race.

    ReplyDelete
  23. A little surprised. Only 7 out of Ohio and 1 out of Michigan in the top 100. Only two of these 8 in the top 50 I have trouble believing that the mid-west talent is that thin. Like a kid in the sand box.....I don't care. I love how our class is shaping up.

    ReplyDelete
  24. what are our chances, if any, with dorial beckham green?

    ReplyDelete
  25. sorry, i meant next commitment should be a DB from ohio after TR based on hoke's "pair strategy" ;). guess this time it may be somebody from IL?

    ReplyDelete
  26. Rivals is full of it they basically ranked all the guys with an under armor or army all american game invite in the top 100. They showed everyone they are not thinking for themselves on this one at all. I am not worried about it because after next season they will be making major changes to their list.

    ReplyDelete
  27. The Rivals 100 is too stingy. They always overlook guys for no good reason, whereas Scout 300 includes everybody for no good reason. I like the ESPN list because it seems a bit more balanced to me. None of the first 8 commits surprised me but I get the feeling that from here on out there will be surprises left and right with the class filling up and so many interested kids.

    ReplyDelete
  28. I think our chance of landing some top offense players is thin. But I hope we can get 1 or 2 five star defense players because of our NFL caliber D coach.

  29. Here Benji, have fun with this update from O'Brien. Per 247sports.

    O'Brien: 'I'm Completely Open'

We will see what comes of it after the Godin decision Thursday.

    ReplyDelete
  30. don't think we'll land Green or Smith. I think our best shot at a WR is probably still Burbridge. having said that, I agree with Michael....I can see some surprises coming.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Why do you keep bringing up Corey Smith ?. He does not have a Michigan offer.

    ReplyDelete
  32. I think somebody picked his news up on a tweet today but we haven't even offered him. Okay.....no more on Smith by anybody!!! :)

    ReplyDelete
  33. Apologize for sounding so stern. My bad.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Cut like a knife.... Give me your next three commits and we're square.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Godin, Standifer. Those two for sure. Thompson will delay or go elsewhere; Don't think he will announce on Wednesday. My 3rd guess will be T.Richardson. Richardson is not going to wait till Under Armour game. Ross & RJS will be bugging him for the next 7 months.

Gotta believe Armani Reeves, Wayne Morgan are paying attentin, specially Morgan. So my (3) will be Godin, Standifer & Richardson by week's end.

  36. Nice article praising Michigan/Brady Hoke's aggressive start to recruiting... Finally getting some well deserved attention.

  37. Good picks. Standifer will likely pick up other offers. Just picked one up from Syracuse but he needs to know that where UM is concerned, time is not his friend. Godin and TR are done deals.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Hopefully it's T-Rich and Jarrod Wilson, folllowed by Godin and Wormley. Then Burbridge and Staford. Then a quick wrinkle when both Adolphous Washington and Se'von Pittman commit.

    ReplyDelete
  39. just wondering..is t-rod even THAT good?
i understand he is a solid, possibly more than a solid prospect, but i feel like he is a little overrated due to so much hype. Yes he did get offers from bama n LSU, but he doesnt seem like an elite CB in my opinion. a little better than cissoko maybe..

    ReplyDelete
  40. T-rod? I'll assume you mean Terry Richardson.

Yes, he is THAT good. His offer his is the best in the state, and 24/7 Sports even ranks him as the #31 overall prospect in the class of 2012.

He's not a big corner, that's why they'll take Standifer too. But what Richardson lacks in size he makes up for in cover skills and playmaking ability. If you remember back to last year, he's one of the only CBs on the camp circuit that could actually cover DeAnthony Arnett in 1 on 1 drills - and Arnett runs sick routes!

    ReplyDelete
  41. o yes sry. i meant to say T-Rich.

so he is that good huh? i mean his closing speed seems pretty darn good but i guess i was underestimating just because of his height. hopefully he will go blue and grow taller...

i can still remember cissoko getting beat by floyd 2 years ago, again, and again, and again, and again...

    ReplyDelete
  42. Well Michael Floyd is 1st round pick (except for off field issues), he's going to beat a lot of corners. Even Donovan Warren got beat a few times in that game.

Cissoko just wasn't ready, it's not like he was going up against that caliber of WR in practice!

    ReplyDelete
  43. Hey Benji did you ever get a chance to check out shane barron? WR from flint michigan. If not YouTube him pleaseeee.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Ht: 5-10 Wt: 175lbs

That's pretty much all we need to see. He might be a good football player, but he's not what Michigan is looking for in a WR.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Special teams preffered walk on?

    ReplyDelete
  46. Benji, 24-7 sports listed Terry Richardson as 31st overall and listed Wayne Morgan 33rd overall. That surprised me. Wayne Morgan is listed as the 19th best just at his position by Scout and Rivals has yet to give him any stars at all. Playing QB and CB might take away from his defensive stature some, but do you think he's being overvalued or undervalued?

    ReplyDelete
  47. I can see Michigan saying no to both Godin and Thompson for waiting because there is not point in having 3 TE's and I don't think we can take 4 DE's... We are really hoping for Wormley and maybe a forth from way out of left field from a study, maybe Noah Spence?? I just feel both Godin and Thompson are too late.

    ReplyDelete
  48. A quick note on any db prospect who comes to michigan... they will be playing behind what is shaping up to be the best defensive front in the country. Which means less safeties up around the LOS in run support and more difficult throws and reads for opposing QB's not to mention a whole heap of pressure in their face.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Yeah, Whatever happened to your Zeke Pike weekly rant. ?

    ReplyDelete
  50. Mattison will be running numerous Safety and Corner blitz packages. He likes to mix it up and have both Safeties switch positions too. Any DB prospect needs to be versatile because Mike Martin has already been seen dropping into pass coverage.
1 of the TE's might end up a OT and another might end up a WR, and Godin could be a DE or DT so it's not really too late to hope for Godin or Thompson.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Michael, I'd say Wayne Morgan is undervalued by Scout right now, and overvalued by 247. He's a good prospect with great straight line speed, but he's not the 33rd best player in the nation to me. I'd probably have him as a mid-high four star prospect, maybe just around the top100 mark.

    ReplyDelete
  52. There is always a possibility of that happening Cesar, but I thought I'd give you a break... I'm just saying that I wouldn't be surprise if Michigan turns Thompson and Godin away.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Ryan,

Tell you what. If Godin commits to Michigan, you can be critical of him, Hoke, Coach Mattison & Company. You can then twitter Godin and have thant one on one conversation with him of you not wanting him as part of the 2012 recruiting class. Got bout 72 hours to go or so.

Then concentrate on the Zeke Pike mission.

    ReplyDelete
  54. well if we think about it and look back at it in retros perspective, we could come to the conclusion that Terry Richardson decided early indeed
